The international sculpture symposium returns to Kaunas after a 20-year hiatus. From September 8 to 29, the city will host the third symposium, during which ten artists from Lithuania and abroad will create works dedicated to Kaunas modernism – an architecture of optimism recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Symposium participants: Arvis Kantiševs (Latvia), Āris Smildzers (Latvia), Volodymyr Kochmar (Ukraine/France), Olena Dodatko (Ukraine/Poland), Mindaugas Jurėnas, Donatas Dovidavičius, Vytautas Narutis, Gediminas Pašvenskas, Gintaris Juozas Česiūnas, and Stasys Žirgulis.
This event is a unique opportunity to see up close how contemporary sculpture is created. The symposium will be accompanied by educational events, excursions, and discussions with artists.
